What to Expect On Your Install
Questions & Answers
How long will my install take?
Answer: Most installs take one to two days to complete. You can find the specifics in your contract, or call our office for more information. If we think the install will go longer than the scheduled time frame we will reach out to you and explain the situation.
Do I need to be home during my install?
Answer: We will need access to the home but you do not need to be home while we are working.
When is payment due? What if I financed?
Answer: A down payment is due before we schedule your install and the remainder of the bill is due on completion of the job. If you financed through us, we will finalize the paperwork once the work is complete. For information on your loan refer to your loan documents or reach out to your comfort specialist for more details.
What is the Archon process? What is the Testing/Permitting Process?
Answer:
- First, Archon will reach out to get you scheduled for the Title 24 testing. This appointment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on various factors including the size and age of your home, what was installed, and how accessible your system is. A Title 24/H.E.R.S. (Home Energy Rating Systems) is an inspection required by the state of California, and must be performed anytime alterations have been made to your heating or air conditioning equipment.
- Next, once the T24 has been completed, Archon will mail you a packet with your testing and permit information, along with a form directing you to call them to schedule your Final City Inspection. Archon will schedule a day that works best for you, since you must be present. You can request an AM or PM appointment but please keep in mind this is only a request and the city inspector may not make it in the time interval you requested. Archon may take a few days to contact you about scheduling depending on call volume.
- On the final inspection the City Building Inspector will confirm that all building code compliances have been met on your new system. If your system is in the attic the city inspector will require a ladder. Per city policy the inspector will not touch or set up the ladder themselves. If you do not have a ladder or do not wish to set up your ladder, don’t worry, we will gladly meet the inspector there and provide one.
- This service is already paid for and must be completed to finalize your permit.
What about rebates?
Answer: You already received them! We have given you all applicable rebates and already applied them to your final bill. We take care of them so you don’t have to worry!
